Jason Ishak Managing Director
At a young age of 15 years, I had apassion for business. I started buying and selling products via online platforms such as eBay from local vendors. Within a year I had expanded my horizons and began working with international counterparts to expand my business and its growing needs.
By the age of 18 years after completing a year 12 and attainting my higher school certificate, I opened my first retail/E-commerce business as well as attending an undergraduate degree in Engineering. With rapid business growth, my workload outweighed my schedule and I had to leave university without graduating.
In 2013, with business still growing rapidly, I found a greater need for cellular part demand in the market and so began my secondary business venture in wholesale distribution in AU. In 2014 with the increased demand and the need to outsource quality and expand supply chain I ventured internationally to meet my new business demands.
Coming back to Australia my mind was filled with even greater endeavours to expand wholesale and e-commerce globally. This has led to a pinnacle moment in establishing Mobile Mart which was to become a global Omnichannel supply solution in the wireless industry. By 2016 after more than a dozen trips to the Asian continent to meet vendors and customers and establish channels, demand for service was greater than ever. Over the next few years Mobile Mart has had expediential growth, whilst planning was underway to expand and opening various subsidiaries in key regions of the globe.
In 2018, I travelled to the Middle East and Europe which we had strong supply chain precents which lead to opening Mobile Mart BV in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Using 3PL’s to distribute out of Amsterdam, our foothold in Europe and Middle East had grown dramatically. Phase 2 for Mobile Mart was implemented in 2019 with the opening of a subsidiary in Hong Kong to support Mobile Marts ever expanding foothold in the Asian market. Throughout the expansion phases I was constantly seeing the need for me to travel globally which played a vital role in Phase 3 with establishing partnerships to supply large distributors through the American continent. However, in 2020 due to COVID all travel, and expansion plans were put on hold indefinitely and our major plan to open a warehouse in the US had to be suspended.
This led to our Sydney base playing a key role in exporting around the globe. The effects of COVID there was supply chain issues coming out of China which lead us to establish an office in Shenzhen, China in order to solidify and maintain quality control and be a secondary global distribution channel. I had seen my business in 2015 transform from being a small business which started in the garage to being one of the wireless industries key player and supply channel.
